Note that Shifting can only be done after a student's 1st Year at the Loyola Schools, but you may still begin the application procedure during this time.
Submit a letter to your Home Department regarding your intention to Shift. You can use our template and edit as you see fit.
Wait for the approved letter.
Duration: 1-2 Working Days
Seek the advice of the Department Chair / Program Director of the progrma that you wish to take a Shift into. You may need to ask things such as when certain class are offered, and how to best fit the workload.
Download and fill out the Form for Change of Degree Program or Application for Minor / Specialization from your AISIS account.
*If you are a 1st Year Student, download and fill out the Intent to Change Degree Program Form instead. Here, you may request to change subjects in your IPS tagged as Major Subjects (M) in your 2nd Semester, to give yourself a more efficient program of study.
Fill out this template of Reasons for Request to Shift and attach it to your form. Also, make sure to attach any departmental forms requested by the offering Department as listed in Step #1.
Have your form signed by the following in this order: Home Department Chair, Accepting Department Chair (where you're applying), OAA (if you're a Scholar), and the ADAA.
*For those doing the Intent to Change Degree Program Form, have it signed by the Associate Dean for Core Curriculum (OADCC) before the ADAA.
Duration: 4-6 Working Days (1-2 days per office)
Submit the completed form to the Office of the Registrar. If you want a copy of your form, make sure to have it photocopied with all the signtaures before submitting.
The Office of the Registrar will update your IPS.
Consult the appropriate office for Advisement:
Office of the Registrar - Sophomores
New Home Department - Juniors, Seniors and Superseniors
Make sure to have your subjects added before the next Enlistment period.
To complete and graduate from the degree you Shifted into, complete all the required subjects while meeting the corresponding grade requirements.
Make sure to submit and / or accomplish other requirements the offering department may have.
